Artist Bio
Christophe Domergue (b.1975) is a multidisciplinary artist who lives and works from his base in Sydney, Australia.
Domergue currently works in mixed media using a process he has termed ‘peelings’ to create urban artefacts.
Domergue says “The key theme to my practice is ‘finding the beauty in the banal’. He does this by extracting the surfaces of urban environments to create compositions that blend abstraction, archeology, history and materially.
In 2017 Domergue graduated with a Master of Art in Sculpture, Performance and Installation from UNSW Art and Design and was also a finalist in the Blacktown City Art Prize with his peelings. In early 2018 Domergue visited India and was inspired by new areas to peel and now has ‘peelings’ in Galleries in Bangalore and Chennai.
